In recent years,with the vigorous development of logistics business,WMS systems(Warehouse Management System)have become increasingly widely used and professional in warehousing companies.Many companies,especially fast moving consumer enterprises of Shoes and apparel in China,have increasing demand for warehousing systems.With the ever-changing and diversified demands of customers,the precartonization logic during OB process in the WMS needs corresponding change,to optimize system logic and operation model.A company is a world known sportswear brand of shoes and apparel.In July 2017,it officially opened a new North China satellite DC in Beijing(The satellite DC is a secondary warehouse,which receives products from central warehouse,and then distributes to region it covers based on business needs).The function of this DC is to cover the needs of the timely replenishment in North China,especially for the VIP stores in Beijing and Tianjin(same day arrival and next day arrival)and VAS(value-added services: security tag,hangers,etc.)to meet the needs of corresponding VIP stores for Sales and special VAS.It is the first time to establish satellite DC in North China,and,particularly,there is no mature experience in China for the corresponding VIP store's special service needs.(The previous model was direct distribution from national central DC to stores,which could not meet the diversified demand of VIP stores).Therefore,the original function of WMS system is not yet perfect.In the entire operation of the satellite DC,the process of OB is particularly important.This process involves optimization and study of system order management,packaging management,wave management,replenishment management,picking management,precartonization management.The most important thing is to optimize WMS precartonization logic,to meet customer's requirements.The focus of this dissertation is on the analysis and improvement of the precartonization logic.The intention and value of the research is to make the system's precartonization logic more reasonable and intelligent.And help our customers to continuously reduce related costs,through improving the validity of precartonization logic and carton utility rate in a scientific and multi-dimension way.Through continuous exploration and research of the team,this project has made great progress and achievements in many ways,including breakthroughs in system logic optimization,direct and indirect economic cost reduction,optimization of operating methods,and even customer recognition.To some extent,this DC plays a significant role and is set as an example for the company's internal system optimization and developing new customers.
