Information And Communication Technology And The Quality Of Enterprises' Export Products

Using the data of China customs database from 2000 to 2006,this paper obtains the quality of export products of enterprises through demand function,and analyzes the quality of export products of enterprises from the aspects of enterprises,products,industries and regions.This paper further combines the database of Chinese industrial enterprises,the world bank and the input-output table,and takes the VAT reform policy in 2004 as the policy impact to build a triple difference model to analyze the impact of enterprise information and communication technology on the quality of enterprises' export products.The three levels of difference in this paper are: implementation area,implementation time and information and communication technology density.After the analysis of benchmark regression results,this paper continues to carry out the heterogeneity analysis,the analysis of the influence of information and communication technology on the dispersion degree of product quality and the robustness test.Finally,the paper analyzes the transmission mechanism of information and communication technology to export product quality.The results of this study show that the improvement of information and communication technology has a significant role in promoting the quality of export products.From the perspective of enterprise type,the improvement of the density of information and communication technology has a significant promoting effect on the improvement of export product quality of foreign-funded enterprises,collective enterprises,state-owned enterprises and private enterprises.From the perspective of dispersion degree,the improvement of the density of information and communication technology reduces the dispersion degree of the quality of enterprises' export products.In addition,the robustness of the regression results in this paper was tested by substitution of key variables and parallel trend test.Finally,this paper finds that information and communication technology further affects the quality of export products by affecting the production efficiency of enterprises.
