This study contributes to the literature on hybrid organisations by examining the influence of psychological distance and identity centrality on social enterprises(SEs)which are one type of social entrepreneurship.Hybrid organisations encounter a considerable amount of difficulty when they try to play a role on the social and financial fronts simultaneously.This study has relied upon construal level theory(CLT)1 to render these social issues manageable,which argues that an entrepreneur's passion about dynamics,such as here and now,likely or unlikely and the near or far from self,is vital for the integration of the social and entrepreneurial goals.In an inductive and deductive study on 350 global social enterprisemostly OECD countries,wefound a positive relation of psychological distances with the social issues and entrepreneurship integration over time.The contingent role of identity centrality is enhancing the influence of psychological distance with social issues and entrepreneurship with temporal,spatial,social and hypothetical distance.Results advance the field of hybrid social enterprisepractice and open the door for future research on the bridging of social issues and entrepreneurship.This study also guides the policymakers of these countries to enhance Hybrid organization of social enterprise knowledge,as social enterprise is internationally proven to pursuit the dual mission(Social and economic)for providing the best solution of social issues.Further,the study also provides a clear guideline to the corporate managers to design effective strategies for the creation of new social venture in across the globe by investigating the different possibilities with time contrast,spatially,socially and hypothetically.
