A Study On The Willingness Of Apple Weather Index Insurance In Sanmenxia City

Weather index insurance is a new type of agricultural insurance product,which provides a new way for the production and management of crops.In 2018,in the strategic plan for Rural Revitalization(2018-2022)issued by the State Council,it was proposed that "the agricultural insurance policy system should be improved,weather index insurance pilot should be encouraged,and the agricultural risk management system should be improved".Sanmenxia city is one of the two best suitable apple growing areas in China.Now,the apple area in Sanmenxia city has reached 1 million740 thousand mu,with an output value of 21 billion yuan.Due to the impact of meteorological disasters,the affected area of apple in Sanmenxia City in 2018 has reached 347 thousand mu,causing economic losses of 130 million 670 thousand yuan.In this context,in March 2019,an insurance company in Henan Province,together with Sanmenxia Meteorological Bureau,released weather index insurance products in Sanmenxia City to help the development of apple industry.Therefore,this paper focuses on the investigation of weather index insurance willingness of apple growers in Sanmenxia area,and analyzes the main factors that affect the purchase of weather index insurance.Taking the apple growers in Sanmenxia as the objects of investigation,through the random questionnaire of apple growers in Lingbao City,shaanzhou District,Lushi County,Hubin District,Mianchi County and Yima City of Sanmenxia City,this paper analyzes the weather influencing the apple growers in Sanmenxia City from four aspects: the basic situation of the farmers,the planting situation,the recognition situation and the external influence situation Factors of index insurance.On the basis of fully understanding the research of weather index insurance and the insurance situation in Sanmenxia City,this paper makes a descriptive statistical analysis of the questionnaire,and preliminarily explains the factors that affect the purchase of weather index insurance by apple growers.At the same time,in order to make clear the influence degree and direction of each factor on Farmers' insurance intention,thispaper chooses binary logistic regression model to do empirical analysis according to the variable type set by the questionnaire.The regression results of the model show that the eight factors,such as gender,education level,management scale,whether the fruit trees are vulnerable to meteorological disasters,attitude towards the traditional fruit tree planting insurance,the impact of premium subsidy of Apple weather index insurance,the publicity of insurance companies and the publicity of the government,have a significant impact on the purchase of weather index insurance.Finally,in order to make weather index insurance better provide insurance for apple growers and improve the willingness of insurance,the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are put forward.The first is to increase publicity;the second is to improve the cognitive ability of weather index insurance;the third is to set up a scientific premium subsidy mechanism;the fourth is to distinguish groups to improve effective demand.Therefore,in order to speed up the role of Apple weather index insurance in Sanmenxia area,we can improve the enthusiasm of apple growers to purchase weather index insurance from the above four perspectives,better protect the production and operation of farmers,and improve the construction of agricultural insurance system in rural areas.
