Research On The Influence Mechanism Of Cognitive Distance And Social Distance On Supply Chain Capabilities Between Supply Chain Enterprises

As competition intensifies in the business environment,market competition is gradually changing from competition between enterprises to competition between supply chains,supply chain capabilities are increasingly becoming the key for core enterprises to maintain competitive advantage,reduce costs and increase profitability.However,supply chain capabilities as a multi-dimensional concept have many influencing factors,and how to effectively improve supply chain capabilities has become a hot and difficult point of common concern in academia and business.In this regard,research by economic geographers has found that implicit distances,especially cognitive distances and social distances,have an important impact on information transfer,knowledge transfer,and organizational coordination between manufacturers and suppliers during the cooperation process,and the change of these factors is closely related to the manufacturers' coordination ability,activity integration ability and responsiveness,and will ultimately significantly affect the development of supply chain capabilities.However,there is no empirical research to explore the relationship between the supply chain node enterprises' cognitive distance,social distance and supply chain capabilities,and their core mechanisms.In view of this,based on organizational learning theory and social network theory,this paper explores the influence of cognitive distance and social distance between manufacturers and suppliers on supply chain capabilities and its core influence mechanism in the context of supply chain cooperation.Then,statistical software such as SPSS24.0 and AMOS21.0 were used to test the conceptual model and related research hypotheses proposed in this study.The study found that the cognitive distance between supply chain companies has a positive impact on supply chain capacity and supply chain flexibility,respectively;the social distance between supply chain companies has a negative effect on supply chain capacity and supply chain flexibility,respectively;supply chain flexibility has a positive impact on supply chain capabilities;supply chain flexibility has a mediating role in the influencing process of cognitive chain and social distance between supply chain enterprises affecting supply chain capabilities.
