With the increasing popularity of smart phones and the Internet in our country,third-party payment has gradually penetrated into the daily life of users, among which Alipay and Tenpay are the representatives.Third-party payment restricts the business development of traditional commercial banks both in terms of business structure and business scale. Therefore, this paper explores how the third-party mobile payment and the third-party internet payment affect the income of commercial banks respectively, how the third-party payment affects the income of commercial banks of different sizes, and whether the third-party payment affects the deposit and loan business income and the intermediate business income of commercial banks differently, which is helpful for commercial banks to formulate their development strategies under the background that the third-party payment continuously strengthens the service stickiness and expands the business boundary. The empirical study of this paper is divided into two parts. The first part discusses the relationship between the non-interest income of commercial banks based on fee and commission income and the third-party payment based on transaction scale. The second part discusses the correlation between the interest income of commercial banks reflecting the income of loans and financial assets and transaction scale of the third-party payment market.Based on the semi-annual data of 15 listed commercial banks from 2009 to 2019,this paper makes an empirical analysis on the influence of third-party payment on commercial bank income by using the fixed effect regression model. The results show that:Third-party mobile payment has a negative impact on commercial bank income, while third-party internet payment has a positive impact on commercial bank income; The influence of third-party payment on commercial banks' income is positively related to their own asset size;Although third-party payment has no significant impact on the income of joint-stock commercial banks and city commercial banks,it has significant impact on state-owned commercial banks; On the whole, commercial banks are obviously impacted by third-party payment, both in their intermediary business and deposit and loan business; The income from intermediary business or deposit and loan business of commercial banks is not only related to third-party payment, but also related to the number of mobile Internet users and social consumption. After analyzing the results, this paper points out that commercial banks should seize the opportunity of aggregate payment market to make strategic transformation by combining the development of financial science and technology with the construction of mobile banking.
