The vertical cooperation problem of family farms is not only related to the future development prospects and directions of family farms in China, but also related to the prospects and directions of China's agricultural industrialization and modernization.Promoting the close cooperation between family farms and other agricultural management entities is conducive to giving full play to the institutional advantages of various operating organizations, realizing resource sharing, complementary functions and win-win cooperation, promoting the establishment of a community of interests among various agricultural business entities, and accelerating China's agricultural industrialization. And the modern development process.Taking family farms as the research object, exploring the vertical cooperation model of family farms has great theoretical and practical significance. The main contents of this study are as follows: Firstly, based on the existing literature, based on the results of field research, the types of vertical collaboration models of family farms are summarized and summarized, namely, market transaction mode, contract mode, cooperative mode and vertical integration mode;Secondly, the paper systematically discusses the basic connotation of these models and the corresponding institutional characteristics, and uses the game theory analysis method to deeply explore the stability of the vertical collaboration mode of family farms;again, through the establishment of theoretical models and frameworks, put forward research hypotheses,Based on the survey data of Hubei Province, the multivariate logistic model was used to empirically analyze the influencing factors of the vertical collaboration mode selection of family farms. Finally, based on the above theoretical and empirical analysis, the policy recommendations were proposed at different levels. The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The four vertical collaboration modes of family farms are ranked from weak to strong according to stability, followed by market transaction mode, contract mode, cooperative mode and vertical integration mode.Family farms with strong economic strength always try to integrate and control the industrial chain as low-cost as possible, which is the inherent logic of the optimization and evolution of these models. In addition, these models have an optimized evolution from market trading mode to contract mode to cooperative mode to vertical integration mode.(2)Factors such as “cultural level”,“risk preference”,“production scale”,“difficulty in obtaining market information”,“scale of labor input”,“certification of agricultural production” and other factors affecting family farms in agriculture The willingness of vertical collaboration has had a significant impact.Among them, compared with the market transaction model, factors such as “cultural level”,“risk preference”,“production scale” and “labor input scale” significantly affect the family farm selection cooperative mode, while “cultural level” and “acquisition of market information” Factors such as the degree of difficulty, the scale of labor input, and the certification of agricultural production have significantly affected the vertical integration model of family farms.Based on the above research conclusions, this study proposes two levels of policy recommendations:(1)From the perspective of family farms,it is recommended to rationally choose the vertical cooperation model of the industry chain;proactively access and learn agricultural technical knowledge and modern information technology;improve the quality of agricultural products, focus on brand building;improve legal awareness and focus on the maintenance of their legitimate rights and interests.(2)From the government level,it is recommended to strengthen and improve the policies of each region to promote the development of model family farms;support and promote the diversified development of the vertical collaboration model of family farms;attach importance to the construction of agricultural and rural management talents and foster new professional farmers.
