The coordinated development of the regional economy has always been an important issue in the long-term economic development of the region.Prior to the reform and opening up,China implemented a highly concentrated planned economy, and then the regional economy development coordinately. The gap between the eastern and western regions gradually emerged after the reform and opening up.However, since the 1990 s,China 's regional economic development strategy has developed in a coordinated direction. The 13 th Five-Year Plan proposes that the “One Belt,One Road” construction should be used to promote the development of the western region. The infrastructure network among Asia,Europe and Africa promotes cooperation between energy resources and the industrial chain, forms a new processing, storage and transportation industry base, and promotes coordinated regional economic development. The report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China also clearly proposed the implementation of a coordinated regional economic development strategy. This article studies the coordinated development of the western regional economic development in China.First,it describes the current situation of the coordinated development of the western regional economic development.Second,it analyzes the factors affecting the coordinated development of the western region 's economic development. It mainly uses the geographic weighted regression model(GWR model)and threshold regression model from the two aspects of spatial differences and different levels of factors Model analysis. Finally, the article analyzes the effect of policy factors on the coordinated development of the western regional economy through the PSM-DID method, and verifies the model through a robustness test, and through mechanism inspection and analysis of what factors the policy uses to influence the coordinated development of the regional economy. The results are as follows. The spatial correlation of economic development in the western region is strong and relatively stable. The spatial concentration of economic development in the southwest is higher than that in the northwest. The total regional economic disparity in the western region has shown a downward trend since 2013.Although the regional economic disparity is relatively large, the change is not obvious, mainly due to the continuous reduction of regional economic disparities. In terms of the influencing factors of the coordinated development of the regional economy in western China, the impact of capital stock, fiscal expenditure, industrial structure, and import and export trade is relatively large. The influence of each factor is significantly different in space. The effect of different levels of various factors on the coordinated development of the regional economy is also significantly different.Andit is not that the higher the factors level, the greater the impact. There is a certain factor input ratio among the various factors.Firstly, from the perspective of spatial distribution differences, the effect of the impact of capital stock and import and export trade on the coordinated development of the regional economy is spatially decreasing from the Southwest to the Northwest. However, the effect of the influence of employees in the spatial distribution pattern from the Northwest to the Southwest. The overall effect of fiscal expenditure is higher in the Northwest than in the Southwest, and the impact of infrastructure construction and industrial structure is higher in Xinjiang,Yunnan, and Guangxi.Secondly, from the perspective of different levels of factor effects, labor, fiscal expenditures, and import and export trade in low-value capital areas can effectively reduce the regional economic gap between east and west, and financial expenditure, industrial structure, and trade levels in high-value capital areas can be reduced. The impact of import and export trade in low-value areas of infrastructure construction is significant, and the impact of fiscal expenditure and industrial structure in the median area is greater, and the impact of import and export trade and financial expenditure in the high-value area The effect is significant. When the industrial structure is used as a threshold variable, the effect of import and export trade in its high-value area is greater than in its low-value area, and the effect of fiscal expenditure in its low-value area is positive, while its effect in thehigh-value area is negative.Fiscal expenditure in low-value areas of import and export trade can promote the coordinated development of the regional economy, and the negative effect of the capital stock is negative. In terms of the influence of policy elements on the coordinated development of the western regional economic development in China, the“Belt and Road” initiative has significantly promoted the coordinated development of regional economic development in the western region of China. And the effects of policy is significant and deepening with time. While the economic gap between the western region and the central-eastern regions has been narrowing. In addition, the capital stock, fiscal expenditures and industrial structure have a greater impact on the coordinated development of the western regional economy. The proposal has increased the government 's fiscal expenditure in the western regions along the “Belt and Road”,promoted the optimization of the industrial structure, and increased the level of trade. However, there are different degrees of crowding out effects on capital stock, infrastructure construction and labor.
