The furniture industry is an important part of my country's manufacturing industry, and the products provided are closely related to people's production and life.Judging from the reality of the production layout of China's furniture industry, there are strong regional differences:On the one hand, there are significant differences in the number of enterprises in the furniture industry, the output of furniture products, and the number of industrial clusters in different regions. On the other hand, compared with the more closed inland areas, areas with more convenient foreign trade tend to have a well-developed furniture industry, reflecting the significant impact of foreign trade on the layout of furniture production. However, existing studies have paid less attention to the problem of regional differences in the furniture industry, lacking a quantitative measurement of regional differences in the furniture industry and quantitative analysis of its influencing factors. Therefore, this article focuses on the analysis of the regional differences in the furniture industry and the reasons for such differences,so as to provide research support for further effectively promoting the development of China's furniture industry.First,it discusses the temporal and spatial characteristics of China's furniture industry. In terms of time,it can be divided into three stages: initial development, rapid development, and stable development;in space,it shows typical agglomeration characteristics, and furniture production is extremely uneven among regions. The tendency towards the international market is obvious.Second, the dagum Gini coefficient is used to measure the regional differences in the furniture industry. The results show that the overall regional differences in my country's furniture industry are relatively large, and the regional gap is the main reason for the unbalanced development of my country'sfurniture industry. Finally,a regression model was constructed to explore the reasons for the regional differences in the furniture industry in China from the perspective of furniture industry clusters and foreign trade dependence. The empirical results show that: the formation time of the furniture industry cluster and the degree of dependence on foreign trade have a significant positive impact on the furniture industry's intra-regional difference coefficient,inter-regional difference coefficient and furniture output. The number of furniture industry clusters only has a significant positive impact on furniture output.Per capita GDP and regional innovation capabilities have a significant positive impact on the furniture industry's intra-regional difference.Per capita wages, the tertiary industry's share of GDP,urbanization rate, the level of real estate development and financial crisis have a significant negative impact on the furniture industry's intra-regional difference, while the proportion of the secondary industry, the mileage of grade highways and railway mileage in the traffic situation have a significant negative impact on the furniture industry's inter-regional difference.
