Product architecture is an important tool in the process of product innovation.Through the research of product architecture,enterprises can grasp the characteristics of complex products and make more effective product innovation decisions.On the one hand,in the existing research,product architecture is often regarded as a static structure,while the impact of dynamic changes of product architecture in the process of product innovation on product innovation performance is ignored.On the other hand,most researches focus on the characteristics of product architecture innovation,and ignore the importance of the opportunity of product architecture innovation in the real situation.Therefore,this paper takes the innovation opportunity in the process of product architecture innovation as the research object,analyzes the mechanism of product architecture innovation opportunity on the diffusion process of product innovation,and explores the optimal innovation opportunity in the process of product architecture innovation.Through literature review and analysis,this paper combs the key elements in the process of product diffusion,and summarizes that the process of product architecture innovation opportunity selection goes through two steps: confirming goal orientation and selecting product innovation strategy.This process is influenced by communication structure and social cognition.On this basis,the conceptual framework of product architecture innovation opportunity analysis is constructed,and the process of innovation opportunity selection focuses on innovation diffusion The time factor of each variable and the mechanism of innovation opportunity on innovation diffusion are analyzed.Guided by this mechanism,a mathematical model is constructed,and the relationship between variables is explored through simulation experiments.A single case exploratory study is conducted on the opportunity of product architecture innovation in the actual situation based on the enterprise case.Finally,a decision-making model for the opportunity of product architecture innovation is jointly constructed based on the conclusions of the two parts of the study.The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)the innovation opportunity of product architecture has different orientation in each stage of product life cycle.In the product introduction stage,the opportunity of architecture innovation is technologyoriented,and the innovation mode is mainly system innovation;in the product growth stage,the opportunity of architecture innovation is scale and collaboration oriented,and the innovation mode is mainly interface innovation and module innovation;in the product maturity stage,the opportunity of architecture innovation is ecological oriented,and the innovation mode is mainly module innovation.(2)The opportunity of product structure innovation is closely related to channel structure.The channel structure must match the product structure to ensure the effective implementation of innovation.When the channel does not match the product architecture,the enterprise will reduce the increment of product architecture knowledge or slow down the cycle of product architecture innovation to ensure the innovation throughput.Combined with the results of the simulation experiment and the findings of the case study in the actual situation,this paper guarantees the scientificity and applicability of the research conclusions,provides management suggestions for enterprises from two aspects of product architecture innovation and channel optimization,and provides theoretical guidance for enterprises to make product architecture innovation decisions.
