The Urban commercial banks,which were born in the mid-1990 s,are regional small and medium-sized financial institutions generated from urban credit cooperatives.In July 1995,Shenzhen City Cooperative Bank officially opened and became the first city commercial bank in the country.Since then,China's city commercial banks have gone through more than 20 years.Urban commercial banks that have flourished in line with the economic and financial development and reform situation have played a very important role in improving the commercial banking system and promoting the economic development of cities.However,with the increasingly fierce competition among banks in China,urban commercial banks are at a disadvantage in competition with large state-owned commercial banks and joint-stock commercial banks.Many banks are seeking transformation opportunities.The development of community banks is one of the urban commercial banks An important road to transformation.Due to this background,this paper analyzes the feasibility of developing community banks for urban commercial banks by combing relevant domestic and foreign literature,drawing on the theory of financial symbiosis,community construction,and inclusive finance.On this basic,this article starts with the case of Jiujiang Bank and Taizhou Bank developing a community bank,and combines these two cases to analyze the similarities and differences of urban commercial banks developing community banking.Finally,this article puts forward policy recommendations for urban commercial banks to develop community banks: first,take root in community life and create individual brands;second,streamline business processes and improve the marketing system;and third,choose a development path based on its own advantages.
