Research On The Impact Of Social Responsibility On The Performance Of Commercial Banks

Commercial banks are the central nervous system of market economy.Whether they fulfill their social responsibilities and how they fulfill them have a certain demonstration effect.It is of great practical significance to explore the factors that affect the performance of social responsibility of commercial banks,analyze whether the performance of social responsibility will affect the performance of banks,and put forward suggestions to promote the better performance of social responsibility of commercial banks.Based on the stakeholder theory,this paper analyzes the current situation and influencing factors of social responsibility performance of China's banking industry,taking industrial bank as an example,selects relevant data from 2008q4 to 2019q3 and uses ARDL model and error correction model to empirically analyze the impact of social responsibility performance of Industrial Bank on business performance.The results show that the performance of social responsibility of Industrial Bank has a positive impact on business performance,and has a certain lag.Then,we further study the long-term lag of social responsibility performance of Industrial Bank since the implementation of Equator Principle,and find that the performance of social responsibility at the beginning of the period is not consistent with the trend of business performance,which does not show a certain correlation,but after three years,the correlation between the two gradually increases,so we can see that the performance of social responsibility of Industrial Bank has a long-term lag.On this basis,this paper analyzes how industrial bank can improve its business performance while fulfilling its social responsibility.Finally,it is suggested that all major commercial banks should pay attention to the needs of stakeholders,correctly fulfill their social responsibilities and improve the reporting system and evaluation system.Finally,on this basis,they should enhance the sense of responsibility performance and cultivate corporate culture.
