Objective:Through the collection of nutritional labeling information of calcium supplement foods sold in Lanzhou and laboratory testing of calcium content,to understand the current status of nutritional labeling of commercially available calcium supplement foods,and the compliance between calcium labeling values and actual test values.In order to guide and regulate the nutrition labeling of calcium supplement foods and provide reference for food regulatory authority.Methods:This study used a multistage stratified random sampling and convenient sampling method.178 calcium supplements and 43 health foods were purchased at supermarkets,food or health food retail stores in six districts/counties?Chengguan,Anning,Yuzhong,Xigu,Honggu,Yongdeng?of Lanzhou.Used Excel to establish a food label information database.Randomly sample 30%of the samples,and checked the accuracy and completeness of the entered information.According to the GB 28050-2011"General Principles of Nutrition Labeling of Prepackaged Foods in National Food Safety Standards","Administrative Measures for Health Food"and"Marking Content and Marking Requirements of Health Food Marking and Product Instructions",to assess and analyze compliance of food nutrition label information and content,and use SPSS 25.0 software to analyze the difference between the labeling rate and correct rate of various food nutrition labels.With referencing to the national standard method,explored and established the best experimental method for measuring calcium by flame atomic absorption method.The method was tested for recovery rate,detection limit and precision to determine whether the method can accurately detect the calcium content in calcium supplement foods.Adopted the method recommended by the national standard to conduct laboratory tests on the contents of iron,zinc,and vitamin D,and compared the differences between the food nutrition label and the laboratory test values.Calculated the allowable error range and determined whether it meets the allowable error range of calcium,iron,zinc and vitamin D content.Results:?1?A total of 221 samples were purchased in this study,including dairy products and their products,biscuits,beverages,other types,and health foods.There were 4types of 178 calcium supplements and 43 types of calcium supplement health foods.The nutrition labeling rate of all foods is 100%.The correct rate of calcium supplements is 91.6%,and the correct rate of health foods is 95.3%.The two kinds of food with higher accuracy are beverages,dairy and products,which are 97.0%and 96.1%respectively.The lowest labeling accuracy is for other types of food,with a labeling accuracy of 82.1%.?2?Most of the 178 types of calcium supplement food nutrition label formats use a format that indicated more nutritional ingredients?84.3%?,followed by a format with a foreign language?7.3%?and a format with a nutrition claim and nutrition function claim?6.7%?.The nutritional labels of 43 kinds of calcium supplement health foods are all in text format.In terms of the effective ingredients and content,74.4%are in the form of a table and25.6%are in the form of a text.?3?The labeling rate of the mandatory labeling content of food nutrition labels is 100%,and the correct labeling rates of energy and four types of core nutrients?"1+4"?are 92.7%and 92.1%.The NRV%labeling rate of"1+4"is 93.8%,and the correct rate is 100%.The correct rate of the calcium element labeling is 95.5%,and the correct rate of other nutritional components except calcium is 88.1%.?4?The labeling rate of 178 kinds of calcium supplements in general food nutrition claims is 28.1%,and the higher labeling rate is milk and its products.Calcium,protein,and iron are the three nutrients claimed to be the most labeled.The labeling rate of nutrition ingredient function claims is 20.2%,the labeling pass rate is 88.9%,The three nutrients marked more are calcium,vitamin D,and zinc.?5?The optimal wavelength for the determination of calcium element by flame atomic absorption method is 422.67nm,the current of calcium lamp is 4mA,the energy is 58,the height of the burning head in the vertical position is 36.74mm,and the height of the burning head in the horizontal position is 11.36mm.Acetylene flow rate is 2.5L/min,air flow rate is10L/min.The linear range of calcium is 0-18mg/L,The spiked recoveries of high,medium and low concentration samples are 97.50%-102.03%,97.60%-103.41%,89.76%-95.12%,and the detection limit CL is 0.018mg/L.High,medium and low sample precision RSD are0.58%,0.35%and 1.23%.The spiked recoveries of iron and zinc are 92.16%-96.55%,95.20%-101.38%,The RSD of the method precision are 2.0%-2.4%and 1.1%-2.9%,respectively.The three element detection methods have good precision and can accurately detect the calcium,iron,and zinc content in calcium supplement foods.?6?The calcium,iron,and zinc labeling compliance rates of calcium supplementary general foods are 92.7%,95.2%,and 90.2%,respectively.The coincidence rates of calcium,iron,and zinc in health food are 100.0%,87.5%,and 88.9%.Among them,milk and its products,biscuits,and beverages have higher compliance with calcium,iron,and zinc content,while other types of calcium supplement foods have lower compliance.As the maximum limit of calcium content is not specified,in calcium supplemented general foods and health foods,the calcium content exceeds its 180%of the marked value accounted for 10.7%and 67.4%respectively.?7?The content of vitamin D in calcium supplement health food is mainly D3,while in ordinary food,it is mainly D2.Of the 221 calcium supplement foods,29 are health foods marked with vitamin D content,and 38 are common foods.Among them,dairy and products and health food labels have the most vitamin D labels.There are 26 copies of calcium supplement health foods of regulations,the compliance rate is 86.66%.For common calcium supplement foods,there were 34 servings of vitamin D,with a coincidence rate of 89.47%.Conclusions:?1?The nutrition labeling of calcium supplement foods sold in Lanzhou has a high labeling rate and accuracy,especially of milk and its products,biscuits and health foods.Calcium supplement convenience foods and calcium supplement snack foods have lower labeling accuracy.The main problems are incomplete mandatory labeling,inconsistent optional label content,and incorrect expression of nutrients,the rate of nutrition claim and nutrition function claim which is low,the claim content that is not consistent,and the term is not standardized and so on.?2?The marked value of the calcium content in the calcium supplement food sold accords with the detection value in Lanzhou.It is mainly milk about its products and calcium supplement health foods.However,there are cases where individual food label values do not match the measured values.In calcium supplement foods,the coincidence rate of iron and zinc elements is lower than that of calcium,especially calcium supplement health foods.Therefore,relevant food supervision and management departments need to be strengthened supervision and further standardize food labeling.?3?In the nutrition labels of calcium supplement foods,the overall labeling rate of vitamin D is lower than other nutrient content.The vitamin D content indicated in the nutrition label of the health food accords with the actual detection value to a high degree.And the consistency of the vitamin D content of ordinary calcium supplement foods is low.It is necessary to strengthen the monitoring of the declared content of each nutritional component in health food.
