Abstract/Summary:
The driving force behind this project has been the confusions and uncertainties of human life and how they play into our relationships with each other and the world around us. All of the images have been derived from experiences that everyone deals with in life, from ambivalence and skepticism to calmness and serenity. The scenes, however, are not composed with a vision of everyday life. They are the moments of life that can be our turning points, the decisions we make. Each image is set in a period of what is, has, or will happen. All of the elements within each work as well as the exact narratives have been left undefined for the viewer to interpret for themselves. The entire project consisted of four oil paintings, ranging from twenty eight inches by twenty eight inches to fifty eight inches to eighty inches and four charcoal drawings, ranging from eight inches by twelve inches to eighteen inches by twenty four inches.
