Abstract/Summary:
Critical government organizations need to have in place a very efficient and effective power outage management plan in order to ensure their most important functions will not be significantly affected by power outages.;Quality concepts and tools have been continuously applied to a wide range of manufacturing, service and government activities in order to improve their effectiveness and efficiency. The purpose of this project is to use many of the same concepts and tools that have been successfully used in those other activities to create a quality system that critical government organizations of all levels can use to develop, implement, and maintain a very effective and efficient power outage management plan.;The resulting power outage management quality system presented in this project is based on the Shewhart Cycle methodology of continuous improvement and includes specific processes designed to fulfill requirements before, during, and after a power outage event.
