Abstract/Summary:
The purpose of this project was to design a psycho-educational peer support group for homeless youth, identify potential funding sources, and write a grant to fund the program. Named The Revolution Committee because of its strong youth advocacy component. This proposed project targets homeless youth in Santa Monica, California and the surrounding areas. An extensive literature review included major causes, risks and consequences, and evidence-based interventions. Potential funding sources were researched and evaluated, and The Ben & Jerry's Foundation was selected. The proposed intervention was detailed with evaluation plan, staffing information, and budget narrative.
