Abstract/Summary:
The purpose of this project was to create a child sexual abuse (CSA) prevention program for Latina mothers who have an open voluntary family maintenance case with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), identify potential funding sources, and complete a grant proposal to implement this program at the Sexual Abuse Treatment (SAT) team location in mid city Los Angeles. This pilot program consists of 10 sessions, which focus on knowledge regarding child sexual abuse precursors, including psychological and physical symptoms of child sexual abuse. Pre and post-test will be used to evaluate the pilot program and to measure an increase of knowledge regarding child sexual abuse in the participating Latina mothers.
