Abstract/Summary:
This document contains a literature review of the academic tourism industry analyzing the South Korean market for academic tourism opportunities in the United States beginning with exploring the international student market along with the South Korean share of this market. The literature review will then address South Korean's dissatisfaction with domestic higher education and their preference for studying in the United States. The objective of the present research was to create a literature review from which a business plan could be formed for an academic tourism company called the Columbus Club, LLC. The researcher proposes that the company will be formed to provide all-inclusive academic tours of top American research universities to groups of 25 South Korean 10th--11th grade students along with their parents.
