A 2 x 2 between groups ANOVA was used to evaluate the social skills and achievement levels of special needs students before and after receiving the Social Decision Making/Social Problem Solving (SDM/SPS) intervention. Pre/post surveys were completed by 13 teachers and included both quantitative and qualitative items. Improvement in social skills and achievement was not statistically significant, nor was there an interaction between the 2 variables. Qualitative results indicate teacher support for the program. Results are discussed in terms of their compatibility with previous research, and what can be learned from this research to improve social skills interventions and evaluations in the future. |
