Abstract/Summary:
This study observed the relationship between leadership style and organizational effectiveness within the broadcast industry as it relates to job positions. Leadership was examined through the full range of leadership styles of transformational, authentic, and team leadership styles. The study utilized an analytical methodological approach using a fixed research design based upon quantitative methods. The data were provided by a survey that included leadership questions as well as demographic questions. The survey was dispersed to a randomly selected sample of 65 radio and television broadcast leaders with 42 valid response rates of 64.6%. Spearman rho correlation tests were performed, resulting in the rejection of the null hypothesis that was included in the study. The study indicated that leadership style was impacted by organizational effectiveness. Further study is recommended to clarify the impact of gender on the relationship between leader style and organizational effectiveness within the broadcast industry.
