The Canadian Advanced Nanospace eXperiment (CanX) focuses on small space missions involving technology demonstrations and scientific experimentation. The CanX-2 mission was designed to evaluate novel technologies and perform valuable scientific experiments. NTS was designed to demonstrate key elements of COM DEV space-born AIS detection technology. Both CanX-2 and NTS were launched in April 2008. The Generic Nanosatellite Bus (GNB) is a multi-mission design that is adaptable to a variety of payload designs. Developing GNB missions include a stellar photometry mission, BRITE, autonomous formation flying mission, CanX-4&5 and space-based AIS mission, AISSat-1.;This thesis will discuss spacecraft-level environmental testing performed on CanX-2 and on-orbit commissioning and operations of the CanX-2 and NTS spacecraft. Further discussion will focus on ground station software development including automated multi-spacecraft operations adaptable for current and future missions. |
