Abstract/Summary:
The world's amphibian populations have been globally declining over the past several decades due to many aspects of their surroundings. Amphibians are dependent upon the presence of water for breeding, reproduction, and development. Studies have shown that certain chemicals and water quality parameters can affect the biological processes of amphibian development. Studies have also shown that amphibian populations can be affected by UV light, island biogeography, size of pond, and age of pond. This study focused on the correlation between the larval amphibian community and aquatic parameters such as the pH, turbidity, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, temperature, and vegetation. Results, however, showed no significant correlation between the amphibian density and diversity with any of the measured parameters.
