| The objective of perforating is to cost-effectively maximize well productivity and establish good connectivity between the wellbore and the formation. It is observed that perforating by the shooting does not achieve the expected well productivity due to a region of reduced permeability around the tunnel. Due to these difficulties in the Perforation by Shooting (PS) technique, a new method named the Perforation by Drilling (PD) technique is proposed to eliminate the problems associated with current practices (PS technique). This thesis summarizes the results of an experimental and numerical study developed to investigate the impact of perforating by the PS and PD techniques.; In this thesis a comprehensive analytical simulation model is introduced to describe flow behavior of fluid flow and to compare differential pressure gradients through the drilled perforations (PD) and the gun shooting perforations (PS).
