The development of WebGIS technique has promoted a boom of the geographical applications such as designing traveling guidance systems for tourists. In this paper, we proposed a framework of intelligent traveling guidance system based on the characteristic of Washington D.C. tourism. For the realization of the online information system, Google Maps JavaScript API was used for extracting geographical information and mapping. We modeled the route planning as Traveling Salesman Problem and used greedy search algorithm for finding the shortest path in order to minimize the time spent on the road. Our system has several advantages over the existing route searching tools. In addition, we provide a user friendly interface for tour planning across multiple days based on tourists' preference.
