Abstract/Summary:
Knowledge of flora across Texas is vital for cataloging species composition, management, and preservation of individual plant species and ecoregions. Field work was conducted at Hunewell Ranch, Erath County, Texas from September 2006 to August 2007 and again from January 2009 to December 2009. Sampling occurred from March through June 2011 for the two rare species Yucca necopina and Dalea reverchonnii. Three-hundred-fifty-nine species representing 72 families were identified from Hunewell Ranch. Three-hundred-twenty-two taxa are native and 37 are introduced species. Seven of the native species are endemic to Texas and one of the endemic species, Yucca pallida , is endemic to North Central Texas. No plants occurred on the state noxious weeds list (USDA 2012) nor were any rare (Poole et al. 2007), threatened, or endangered species (TPWD 2012) for the state. One-hundred-and-five taxa are considered new records for Erath County but also occur in counties adjacent to Erath County. Seventy-nine taxa do not occur in adjacent counties and have been identified as major range extensions.
