This thesis is a translation of two Second Language Acquisition articles originally written in Spanish which I translated into English. The first article I translated was written in Spanish by Ana M.a Rico and the title is "On Intercultural Competence in the Acquisition of a Second or Foreign Language: Concepts, Methodology and Review of Methods." This article focuses on social aspects of learning a new language and a variety of teaching methods used to teach second languages. The second article I translated was written in Spanish by Francisco Moreno Fernandez and the title is "Second Language Acquisition and Sociolinguistics." This article focused on the sociolinguistic aspect of acquiring a second language and emphasized three second language acquisition theories: interactionist, environmentalist and variationist theories. |
