This study explores the effectiveness of non-traditional methods of theatre in building and bonding diverse relationships in communities. The theoretical base outlines methods and theories of Sociodrama developed by Jacob Levy Moreno (1889--1974) and Community theory developed by Charles Josiah Galpin (1864--1947). The thesis presents information from a study administered by Dr. Kathy Hicks, coordinator of evaluations with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Also a community theatre production of Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol, organized and administered by the author, endeavored to bond a diverse population of rural Texas. | Keywords/Search Tags: | Theatre, Community | | Related items |
