This paper will expand the conversation on previous work regarding African American health complexities. There are a number of plausible reasons, which have attributed to the ongoing health inadequacies African Americans encounter. I argue that location has been largely ignored as a precursor, which contributes to African American health disparity. The Chicago Department of Public Health's Chicago 2012-2016 provides ArcMaps of the 77 neighborhoods lines the contributing factors to inadequate health amongst ethnic and economic classes in Chicago. The precursors of health are negatively affected by inadequate resource distribution in African American neighborhoods. This research also provides policy recommendations to encourage the narrowing of health disparities in the Black community. |
