At this time, Turkey is very close to become a member state of the European Union (EU). Disability policies are one of the key policy issues for Turkey to complete its social and economic adoption to the European Union. This policy has significance for Turkey in the adoption stage of the EU because current policies and services for disabled people including health care, education, rehabilitation, employment, accessibility, and training are far behind what exist in the European member states. Having efficient disability policies are also important for Turkish society to keep moving forward to its liberalization in the modern world.
