| Artificial vision is a subject that is more and more studied in domains such as robotics, biomedical and others. The visual cortical stimulator project of our PolyStim team is a promising application example of that domain, since it will allow to give an adequate vision to people suffering from visual blindness. In order to do it, a particular attention must be given to image capture, since it is the source from which the stimulation of the visual cortex will be done. Also, in order to allow a better autonomy to the patient, a 3D analysis of his environment must be done.; The objective of the presented work is to elaborate the architecture of a system allowing image capture as well as generation of a cartography of the 3D structure of the observed environment. The image capture requires a high dynamic range in order to represent the human eye as well as possible. Also, rapidity of execution is important in order to have the time for 3D processing and generation of the resulting images. All this, in the goal of bringing together the elements necessary for the future realization of a portable system. (Abstract shortened by UMI.)... |
