The Digital Divide tends to be a hegemonic assertion of Internet technology having crucial importance for social, political, and economic engagement in our everyday lives. This thesis will take a look at how disadvantaged individuals, in particular African Americans, attempt to "escape" the Digital Divide by gaining technological capital acquiring some forms of cultural capital.
