Exploring a vision and action plan for tourism in the Comox Valley (British Columbia)

The primary purpose of this project was to explore a vision and action plan for tourism in the Comox Valley. The Comox Valley is located on Vancouver Island, a three-hour drive north of Victoria. Data was collected by qualitative methods, comprised of focus groups and interviews, involving twenty-eight organizations or stakeholders. Key findings pointed to the need of cooperation and collaboration, the creation of a tourism committee, the importance of protecting and sustaining the natural environment, and the need to establish a vision and action plan for tourism.
