Abstract/Summary:
Modern technology has advanced enormously during the past decades. In the past, collection and statistical analysis of data was time consuming, therefore, expensive. Today, with the use of programmable optical equipment and the computer, the scenario has changed making these two processes easy. The purpose of the thesis is to maximize the combination of these two processes. The thesis consists of four stages: Correlation Analysis, Multivariate Analysis, Regression Analysis, and Multivariate Process Control Scheme Development. Understanding the correlations and which is the variable or subset of variables that contain valuable information of the set of variables, will help the investigator to focus primarily in those variables. This will economize time (money), and will help have a better grasp of the information provided by the system being analyzed.
