Abstract/Summary:
Two-dimensional micromagnetic simulations are performed to investigate the magnetic dynamics of Permalloy thin film microstructures. The FORTRAN77 simulation code is upgraded to a FORTRAN90 version, and both codes are tested through comparison with accepted benchmarking results. More simulation results, in both time and spatial domains, are presented and discussed to make a better understanding on corresponding experiment results. Extra efforts are fulfilled to solve some special problems (e.g. formula correction for calculation of the uniaxial anisotropy, selection of damping constant and numerical breakdown in FMR simulations).
