Abstract/Summary:
Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) was blended with Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE). The blending was carried out in different proportions as required by the project sponsor. The blends were melt blended using a twin screw extruder. A twin shell dry blender produced the dry blend. It was found that the difference observed in both the mechanical and rheological properties was not significant. However, it was found that the melt blends were more homogeneous as compared to blends produced by dry blending. Different mechanical and rheological tests were carried out on the different blends.
