Abstract/Summary:
Sensors were investigated for use in electromagnetic nondestructive testing using bulk superconductive material. A resistive measurement technique was used for the testing. The sensors were intended to replace the existing pickup coil in the standard driver-pickup arrangement. A fabrication system was designed and developed to make the sensors. A fully automated data acquisition system was designed and developed to test the sensors at room temperature and at 77 K. All control software was custom written for this project. It was found that the fabrication technique used was too chemically destructive, and the destruction was irreparable. Alternative techniques are suggested for future attempts.
