Abstract/Summary:
Polyblends of polyvinyl chloride with a polyester polyurethane, particularly recommended for compatibility with polyvinyl chloride, generally gave plots for property versus polyblend ratio which were S-shaped, characteristic of two-phase morphology with strong interfacial bonding. Three practical benefits were the use of polyurethane to plasticize or impact modify polyvinyl chloride, and the use of polyvinyl chloride to increase the volume resistivity of polyurethane.
