| This thesis proposes a new software system to collect weather data and analyze it using various scientific techniques. The emphasis of the software system is on the wind data. The software system attempts to understand the correlation between wind speed and other parameters of weather like temperature, pressure, relative humidity etc. The software system can also predict the wind speed for a given location using neural networks. The wind speed prediction is the key to get an estimate of wind power prediction of that location, since the wind power is proportional to the third power of wind speed. The software package can act as a tool for the selection of wind farm sites and estimation of wind power from them. |
