Abstract/Summary:
This work presents the analysis, design and implementation of a sensorless drive for an induction motor. A recursive-least squares estimator is developed to estimate parameters and speed based on the equation error approach using a transfer function from stator voltage to stator currents.; The conditioning problem is studied using sensitivity function and ill conditioning problems are solved using the parameter subset selection method. The developed sensorless drive performance was evaluated by means of simulation and experimental implementation. Test-bed design and implementation is described. A comparative study of the open loop the estimator algorithm performance, and closed loop drive with sensor and sensorless schemes was done.
