Abstract/Summary:
A key problem when we build an Expert System is the way used to acquire the human expert's knowledge. In order to reduce this bottleneck, scientists of Artificial Intelligence have designed a variety of methods that have been used by knowledge engineers in order acquire the expert's expertise. Despite of the various efforts devoted by engineers to confront this problem, many deficiencies are yet to be solved.; This research work presents a new methodology useful for minimizing difficulties faced when seeking to acquire the expert's knowledge. The theoretical foundation for this investigation lies on two basic principles: the conceptual knowledge theory and the theory of meaningful learning. The technique used to apply this methodology has been denominated Conceptual Knowledge Generator (CKG).; The CKG technique was verified in the area of Meteorology. The application of this technique resulted in the acquisition of a significant amount of the expert's knowledge in the specific areas of interest by the gradual transference of the concepts stored in her/his mind.
