The Doctoral Performance and Research submitted by Kyeol Lee, under the direction of Mimmi Fulmer Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, in the fulfillment of the requirements for the degree Doctor of Musical Arts consists of the following: I. Written Project: "A Journey to the successful performance: A personal documentation of learning of G. F. Handel's two da capo arias" This 56-page written project is a personal documentation of learning G. F. Handel's two da capo arias: "V'adoro, pupille," and "Da tempeste il legno infanto." It contains a set of steps to learn arias from the beginning to the actual performance, involving considerations such as choosing the right repertoire, edition, knowing the opera, and acquiring accurate translations, along with my personal approaches to these two specific arias.
