Concrete structures suffer from many deterioration problems often related, in Quebec, to freeze-thaw cycles and reinforcement corrosion, present in the form of voids, fracturing or desegregation. With the growing importance of rehabilitating existing structures, owners of concrete works face a management and maintenance problem. Indeed, maintenance programs are often inappropriate due to the lack of information on the condition of the structures, most characterization methods being limited to qualitative investigation. In this context, the microseismic investigation method is a practical solution for the detection of defects.; This master thesis demonstrate the microseismic method has a strong potential in civil engineering applications to quantify concrete structures, but that its use is sensitive and complex due to the multiple interactions of the seismic waves with the heterogeneous environment of infrastructures. Microseismic investigation can become a form of insurance for the safety of works. The follow-up will allow to establish in advance the critical periods to intervene to minimize the wear of the works with a normal maintenance. (Abstract shortened by UMI.)...
