Abstract/Summary:
This project sought to help a small private college increase the participant rates of its employees in a wellness program and reduce the care gap that the college is experiencing. The project began with a literature review that analyzed articles about traditional wellness programs, the impact of wellness on health insurance costs, and several special topics that are relevant to the college. The project reviewed the current scope of practice of the WellU, what the program encompassed, and utilization of the programs offered by staff and students.. The project reviewed the current offerings on campus in relation to and in support of wellness programs. The project recommends that the college would be wise to expand the scope of its wellness offerings, expand its internal marketing efforts to employees, and utilize best practices in the industry to induce more employees to participate in the existing program offerings.
