Abstract/Summary:
For many years cancer patients have been subjected to toxic cancer treatments that target and kill rapidly dividing tissue by initiating a cellular process called apoptosis. In the process of killing rapidly dividing tumor cells, these treatments also destroy normal, healthy cells that have rapid proliferation rates. In fact, these treatments sometimes kill the cancer patients before the cancer itself. There is a need for cancer treatments that selectively target and kill tumor cells. Protech Pharmaceuticals is a hypothetical pharmaceutical start up company that creates novel therapeutic agents for the treatment of cancer. Protech's mission is to provide the cancer therapeutic market with cost-effective, efficacious therapeutic agents that minimize treatment-induced toxicity in normal, healthy tissues. This document is a hypothetical business plan. While the technologies discussed in this plan are based upon real world science, there are aspects of this business plan that are purely fictional.
