Abstract/Summary:
This thesis seeks to explain patterns of economic policy in less developed countries: first, by modeling the domestic and international sources of economic policy continuity and reform and second, by following their interplay over the course of Bolivia's modern history. While the thesis remains limited substantively (to economic policy) and geographically (to Bolivia's modern economic policy history), the theoretical framework is designed to contribute to our general understanding of the interaction of international and domestic forces in the explanation of patterns of economic policy and reform.
