The Golder Groundwater Package includes a vertical, cross-sectional model (the FPM program) and a pseudo-three-dimensional model capable of simulating layered systems of aquifers (the AFPM program). The programs were designed for use on mainframe computers but were adapted to run on IBM-PC compatible personal computers.;The Golder programs were verified by comparing their solutions to those of analytical models for flow problems having simplified conditions. The analytical models were Darcy's Law and a radial, compressible flow model. The Golder programs were found to agree exactly with Darcy's Law and to be a good approximation of the compressible flow analytical model.
