| This thesis is an attempt to analyze Chinese foreign policy behavior through Chinese political culture and historical experience, especially through the symbol of the Chinese glory, the "tribute system." The theme is that cultures and historical experiences, especially the peak of glory and the deepest suffering events of a nation, are the factors that form the mode of thinking of that nationality.; Today, it is this Chinese mode of thinking, the Chinese national character, that has influenced the Chinese political leaders' intellectual assumptions, emotional predispositions, cognitive maps, and perceptual structures. This thesis demonstrated how the Chinese national character has affected the Chinese foreign policy behavior in the Chinese subjective viewpoint of rationality. Since the past has explained today, the study of today's China will certainly give us the confidence to estimate the future Chinese foreign policy behavior. |
