Abstract/Summary:
This study examined the relationships between demographic variables and attitudes toward domestic violence among Hmong individuals who have acquired at least some level of college education. The focus on this research addressed the cultural beliefs and values in the Hmong community and the effects of education and acculturation Hmong individuals face when challenged with domestic violence issues in their community. The findings from this quantitative study revealed that identifying as Hmong and achieving at least a minimal level of college education, even if a degree was never met, did not affect how one viewed domestic violence. Implications and recommendations are also discussed for future studies.
