Technology-driven, interactive lessons for practice of music concepts are becoming common in elementary music education. However, lessons for Level One Kodaly presentation, specifically as taught at Silver Lake College are not readily available. Using constructivist concepts, as well as taking into account the needs of the Digital Native student, this thesis provides SMART Board lessons for Silver Lake College Level One Kodaly Concepts. SMART Notebook files are created for each of the Level One rhythmic and melodic concepts and presented in sequential order for early elementary learners in Kindergarten, Grade One, or Grade Two. The lessons included in this thesis provide meaningful visual learning activities to meet the needs of these learners. |
