Sandaowanzi gold deposit,located in the northern Daxing' anling in Heilongjiang province,is known as the world's first single telluride type epithermal gold deposit,in which 90%of gold is in the form of gold-silver telluride minerals hosted in quartz vein.In this article,we made a detailed study on the typomorphic characteristics of quartz in the surrounding rock and ore body,whose characteristic involves mainly morphological specificity,chemical composition,lattice parameter as well as inclusions et al.Summarize the differences between ore-bearing quartz and ore-barren quartz,and then to make a discussion about the metallogenic potential of surrounding quartz.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The ore-hosting quartz,which shows smoky gray,poor transparence,xenomorphic micro-fine granular textures,and the particle size of quartz is mainly between 0.01-0.3mm,besides,quartz and gold-bearing minerals,such as calaverite,hessite,tellurium gold and silver petzite,growth together.The ore-barren quartz,which is milky-white,with high transparency,idiomorphic or hypidiomorphic and its particle size is 0.2-0.8mm,more coarse than ore-hosting quartz.(2)Fine gold-bearing quartz,which containes higher levels of impurity elements such as Na?K?Mg?Ca?Ti et al.,The content of the impurity elements of ore-hosting quartz and ore-barren quartz in the area are 0.451%and 0.190%.(3)The cell parameters of quartz from the Au-free vein are apparently smaller than those from the Au-bearing vein.Ore-hosting quartz,whose v0 is 114.398?3,and that of ore-barren quartz is 113.240?3.(4)Infrared spectrum(IR)took on absorption peak near 3400 cm-1(H2O)and 2350 cm-1(CO2),the absorbance of H2O(A1)and CO2(A2)in the inclusions in proportion to the gold content of quartz.The ore-hosting quartz,whose A1?l.7,A2?0.1;And for ore-barren quartz,A1<0.106,A2<0.074.(5)The surrounding quartz,which is pure in quality,white,and has lower content of the impurity elements,which is 0.169%,slightly below that of the ore-barren quartz,dramatically lower than ore-hosting quartz,along with smaller v0(113.280?3),much closer to the ore-barren quartz,and significantly lower than the ore-hosting quartz,infrared spectrum show lower absorption peak near 3400 cm-1(H2O)and 2350 cm-1(CO2),are substantially below that of the ore-hosting quartz.From the evidence,we deduced that the surrounding quartz has a low ore potential.
